SALT Experiences
At Lipscomb, service-learning experiences are categorized into a four tier system based on the intensity of the project. Below are examples of the different types of projects that fall under each tier.

Service Day
Students may earn their SALT Tier I credit by participating in a SALT enhanced service day. SALT enhanced service day experiences involve a single event lasting for a few hours, i.e., QUEST service day, annual spring service day, and weekend disaster relief trips. Not all one time service projects will fulfill your Tier I credit. If you are unsure whether your project is a SALT sponsored project check with your group leader or contact the SALT Center.

SALT Course
Where it is academically appropriate and beneficial, certain university coursework will be transformed into SALT experiences by integrating service projects into the academic context of the course and by refocusing the content of the course to include service-learning outcomes.
