Service-Learning Mini-Grants

Service-Learning mini-grants will be awarded to 4 student groups on campus. All student groups are eligible to apply for and win a service-learning mini-grant. Service-Learning mini-grants are designed to fund ongoing projects in our community. We want you to use the grant to fund an existing project your organization is working on, or help build new partnerships. Recipients of the mini-grants will be required to participate in a service-learning fair on November 17th, 2009 from 10:30-1pm in the Bennett Campus Center. As part of the project, each recipient must put together a table display to show off your work, but you do not have to staff the table. (Be creative! ...pictures, videos, stories, poster boards, and other information about your project). Mini-grant applications are due by Friday October 23rd.

Example project ideas:
  • Your club could use the grant to mentor youth through funding an inner-city sports league
  • Your club could use the grant to partner with high school students and help them prepare for college by funding an ACT prep class

How the grant can NOT be used:

  • Using the grant to do a one-time fundraiser
  • Using the grant to buy food for a food pantry
